Early Black Friday Ads
November is well under way, which means that many retailers have released or are now releasing their Black Friday ads and we are here to evaluate them.
Thanksgiving is very late this year, November 28th, making shopping season shorter than usual by almost a week. There is no surprise that retail ads are here earlier than before and this means that we can start planning our big shopping day earlier too, giving us more time to prepare, so we are not mad at all.
Kohl’s was the first major retailer to release its Black Friday ad on November 1st and it did this second year in a row. Next came Kmart, Sears, and Office Depot on November 4th, followed by Target 2 days later, on the 6th. Best Buy and JC Penney presented their deals on November 7th.
Most retailers are planning to start their Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving Day afternoon. There are a few that will remain closed and let their employees take some much needed time off to celebrate with their loved ones. Those stores are Costco, Sam’s Club, Nordstrom, and Home Depot.
We can’t say we don’t appreciate that as there is always enough shopping time on Black Friday, so go ahead, stay closed and celebrate.
This is what ads we are loving so far:
Bed Bath & Beyond
This will be the first year for the retailer to open on Thanksgiving and that probably has something to do with declining sales. The best deal is going to be Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday 25% off entire purchase, so forget their 20% off one item coupon and come to load up on all kinds of home necessities.
Best Buy
The electronics retailer has plenty of Early Black Friday deals now through Sunday, November 10th. Thanksgiving Day will see the stores open at 5 pm and close at 1 am Friday only to reopen at 8 am for more shopping.
Costco
The wholesaler offers deals for its members at various times all November and until December 2nd, Cyber Monday. Shoppers will be able to take advantage of great deals in five different times with best deals starting online on Thanksgiving Day. Expect great prices on TVs, electronics, gaming consoles, jewelry, food, and more.
JC Penney
This retailer often gets underestimated on Black Friday, but it shouldn’t. The stores will open their doors at 2 pm on Thanksgiving Day attracting shoppers with a mystery coupon giveaway and a chance to win a $500 shopping spree. Best deals are going to be on small appliances, toys, and fashion for the whole family.
TJ Maxx
While Black Friday has many retailers in deals and sales frenzy, TJ Maxx chooses to stay away from crowds and stampedes. The discount retailer features low prices all year round and has a loyal customer base, which they reward with free gifts with purchase or free shipping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
TJ Maxx might just be your safe shopping haven, where you won’t have to endanger your life just to score a deal.
Kohl’s
This pioneer Black Friday ad releaser is going to go big this Black Friday with its $15 Kohl’s Cash starting on November 25th, days ahead of Black Friday. Limited doorbusters will be available online starting at midnight on Thanksgiving while in-store deals will last from morning through 1 pm on Black Friday.
Macy’s
The retailer released its Black Friday ad yesterday, on November 12th. All stores will be open on Thanksgiving with some early deals. 13 free after rebate items will be available only on Thanksgiving.
Office Depot
The retailer and its sister company OfficeMax will remain closed on Thanksgiving, but will start sales on Black Friday at 12:01 am online and at 8 am in-stores. All Rewards members will get early access on some deals online starting on November 26th.
Sears
Just like Kmart, Sears is scaling down and closing 51 stores in February, so Black Friday is a bit thinner this year than in the past. Liquidations are set to start on December 2nd. Sadly the retailer can’t afford Black Friday deals on appliances it has always been known for, but there are still going to be nice offers on various other things.
Staples
Staples is staying closed on Thanksgiving, but has plenty of deals coming on Black Friday. Online deals will start on Thanksgiving Day for purchases that can be picked up in stores or delivered. The physical stores will open at 7 am on Black Friday and will remain open all day.
Target
Target is always serious about Black Friday and will offer early deals to RedCard and Target Circle loyalty program members starting November 27th. Target stores will open at 5 pm on Thanksgiving and feature crazy good deals galore.
Walmart
Surprisingly Walmart hasn’t released its Black Friday ad yet, but offers plenty of Early Deals Drops every day since October 25th. The main ad should come out anytime now and will definitely have plenty of deals for all.
After all there is a reason why Walmart is one of the most popular Black Friday retailers.
