Cabela’s Spring Events and Promotions
Spring fishing season has just begun and it’s off to a great start. Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s are joining forces asking customers to trade in their old gear for great deals on new fishing supplies. The used gear will be donated to local charities and put to good use.
This call comes just in time for The 2019 Spring Fishing Classic celebration that takes place every year from February 15th to March 3rd in the US and at a later date in Canada and Alaska.
Fishermen donating old rods and reels that are still in working order will get $200 voucher towards a new rod and reel. Local non-profit organizations that focus on youth development and support have so far received over 300,000 products through the years as Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s pledge to encourage future generations to experience, love, and preserve the great outdoors despite variable financial situations. No child left behind is a great policy when it comes to loving nature and finding a hobby to offset often turbulent adolescent experiences.
The Fishing Classic also offers fishing seminars for beginners and for advanced levels free of charge, classes at Bassmaster University, activities for women and young children, and various gifts as a part of this giving back program. All participants will get multiple opportunities for gear upgrades before it’s time to start fishing.
Spring Fishing Classic is a free all-inclusive event and has generated plenty of interest through the years with new families joining the fun on the water for life-long memories. All anglers can participate in this trade-in program and get new gear while feeling good about giving back to the community. After all, it’s the youngsters that will take over environment stewardship after us, so teaching them early is vital.
Some great anglers are lined up to speak and teach classes this year during Spring Fishing Classics at Bassmaster University. Alaska and Canada will also have free instructors for speaking engagements.
There is a special class for women interested in joining the fishing ranks this year. Women’s Fishing Workshops are open Saturday, March 2 at 1:30 pm and will include valuable information and insider tips. The first 15 local seminar participants will be awarded a free Bass Pro Shops cooler bag and fishing scissors, so come in early and scoop up the freebies.
Kids also have a program dedicated to them that is called Kids’ Weekend, where they will learn age-appropriate fishing techniques and tips. The classes for them are also March 2nd 12 pm to 5 pm and March 3rd 12 pm to 4 pm. Locations in Alaska and Canada will have different times. Kids will have a chance to learn casting, join a fishing workshop, do some fun crafts, and download photos of the day.
